The Plank Squad is a global community of flooring professionals. As a community, we engage with each other on various social media platforms and through comments, reviews and learning forums on this platform. We ask that you remember the word professionals and abide by our community guidelines, and aspire to apply these guidelines in how you engage with the flooring community on other shared social platforms.

Our community moderator reserves to right to trigger our Terms of Service and remove a member (including an account and/or business listing) who is acting in contradiction to the guidelines and overall terms. This serves to keep this special place as an equitable and responsible community where everyone counts. So please consider the following:

Keep it Civil

We may get into the thick of a lot of heated discussions and that’s okay. These discussions often entail topics that we all personally care a lot about and will passionately defend. Yet in order for discussions to thrive, we need to remember to criticise (positively) ideas, not people.

So, remember to avoid:

  • Name-calling
  • Personal attacks
  • Responding to a post’s tone instead of its actual content
  • Knee-jerk contradiction
  • Trolling
  • Disrespecting others’ privacy

Comments that we find to be hateful, inflammatory, or harassing may be removed. If you don’t have something nice to say about another user, don’t say it. Treat others the way you’d like to be treated.

Add Value

If you would like to add a post comment or interact with fellow learners, focus on adding something valuable to the discussion or a unique perspective. Before joining in a discussion, browse through some of the most recent and active discussions happening for your learning forum, especially if you’re new there. If you are not sure your post adds to the conversation, think over what you want to say and try again later. Remember, don’t be THAT person on a Whatsapp Group that others roll their eyes at.

Keep it Tidy

Help make moderators’ lives easier by taking a moment to ensure that what you’re about to post is in the right place. That means:

  • Don’t post off-topic comments or discussions
  • Don’t cross-post the same thing multiple times
  • Review any specific posting guidelines for the community
  • Check if another active discussion on your topic has already been posted
  • No religious or political content please
  • Posting Plank Squad graphics with care and no edits.

Speak Up

Moderators are at the forefront of combatting spam, mediating disputes and enforcing community guidelines and, so are you. If you see an issue, contact the moderators if possible or flag any comments for review. If you believe someone has violated the Terms of Service and community guidelines, by sending us through the applicable details in a mail.

Thank you!
